Work / Selva
A rooftop bar at The Emily Hotel, Selva, represents the energetic nightlife of Tulum and Mexico City. It takes inspiration from the jungle and the duality of night and day. I developed a brand that is vibrant, edgy, playful, and mysterious.

The Challenge
I was tasked with helping The Emily Hotel achieve a new feel and aesthetic that could resonate with the Fulton Market audience. As the hotel transformed multiple spaces, I considered how each space could coexist while thriving independently. Selva, which means jungle, had to have a tropical feel without being kitschy.
The Research
Inspired by the essence of Mayan hieroglyphics, the illustrations gave the branding a hand-crafted look and feel. Using duality as the driving force for this brand, we found a perfect balance between the light, airiness of the day, and the dark, spirited side of the night, embodying the fire within.
The Result
From the merch to the menu system, the Selva brand is executed with sophistication while still representing the vibrant energy and playfulness of the wild.
